Oil and platinum float thanks to CMS Cameron McKenna

CMS Cameron McKenna has completed the c £38.6m float for Platinum Mining Corporation of India PLC (PMCI), which is admitted to AIM today. The deal is the second in recent weeks where the firm has acted for a natural resources exploration company. Peter Smith, client relationship partner for both clients said: “This is the first time that we’ve acted for either PMCI or Frontera and it’s an exciting time for them. As a firm that values and invests in its client relationships, we’re looking forward to working with them on future projects. Natural resources is an area in which we continue to advise potential AIM entrants.”

The CMS Cameron McKenna team, led by Peter Smith, included partner Sandra Rafferty, and assistants Jennifer Watt, Jonathan Lisle, Rachel Turnbull, and Steve Mack. Singhania & Co LLP advised PMCI in relation to Indian law matters. Trowers & Hamlins advised the Nomad, WH Ireland Ltd.

Recently, CMS Cameron McKenna advised independent oil and gas exploration, development and production company Frontera Resources Corporation on a placing, which raised £42 m, and AIM admission. Frontera’s nominated adviser was Morgan Stanley. The CMS Cameron McKenna team comprised Peter Smith and Steve Mack.
