CMS Cameron McKenna LLP partner Guy Pendell has been appointed the new Chair of the CMS Dispute Resolution Practice, comprising 290 lawyers in 18 jurisdictions. One of the main aims of the group has been to provide clients with responsive cross-border disputes teams capable of dealing with the multi-jurisdictional aspects of each case. Guy Pendell takes over from John Bosnak of CMS Derks Star Busmann.
Guy commented, Over the last few years we have seen more and more cross-border disputes requiring expertise across many jurisdictions. Clients are choosing CMS because of our ability to provide a truly international team with the right amount of local and international expertise. We recognise this and are bringing our disputes teams closer through the CMS dispute resolution practice.
The group will comprise a board of jurisdictional representatives each reporting to the chair. Guy explained "It is the responsibility of those representatives to ensure the right team of CMS lawyers is presented in each case." The group will also be responsible for disputes training across CMS, business development and thought leadership in litigation, arbitration and ADR.
Torsten Lörcher of CMS Hasche Sigle takes over from Guy Pendell as the Chair of the International Arbitration section of the group.
