People Strategy

Our HR strategy is, quite simply, known by us as ‘Best People’.

Those two words say quite a lot. They cover a host of practices designed to attract, nurture and empower teams of talented people who are recognised internally and externally as among the best.

The key elements of our strategy include:

  • Building a collaborative culture 
  • Decentralised decision making
  • Focusing on high performance by team and firm rather than by individual
  • Prioritising people initiatives aligned to our vision and celebrating our success
  • Investing in and empowering the best support

We have many initiatives in place to progress our people strategy. Many of these relate to our reward policies and our investment in career development. Others reflect how we work together and the core principles that guide our behaviours. (You'll find more on this in Our Strategy.) You might also want to know about our approach to corporate social responsibility and what we do in relation to issues such as diversity, health and safety, community investment and our impact on the environment.

Our achievements have been recognised with recent awards, including being named by The Sunday Times as one of the 100 Best Companies To Work For 2009 and by The Lawyer HR Awards 2009 where we received the Award for Excellence in Training.
