As a business, we rely on a variety of specialist business professionals to advise, guide and support the work we provide for our clients.
Recent changes to our management structure have been applauded externally. In their 2008 survey of innovative lawyers the Financial Times rated our management in the top tier of ‘Standout’, both for our transformative management strategy and for our management across our Central and Eastern European offices. In a tier of just four law firms, we were the only one to receive two commendations.
Our senior management team, which includes a number of non-lawyer professionals, is supported by experts in all the usual business support disciplines:
- Facilities & Procurement
- Finance
- Human Resources
- IT
- Knowledge & Information Services
- Learning & Development
- Marketing
Most of our business services departments operate from a central base in London with local presences in our other offices where needed. We work closely with the legal teams; often our specialists, such as HR, Finance and Marketing experts sit alongside the legal teams they support. Some of our support functions are outsourced, but excluding those we have over 400 people working in these departments.
Last, but by no means least, our lawyers depend heavily on their legal secretaries to help them provide the best service to their clients. We have more than 260 secretaries across the firm with most supporting three or four lawyers at the same time.
