Tomáš Matějovský focuses on commercial law and has extensive experience in competition, litigation and also in M&A and real estate. Before joining CMS Cameron McKenna in 2008, Tomáš worked for a Czech law firm and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Tomáš has advised EASTERN SUGAR CESKA REPUBLIKA - major Czech sugar producer, a subsidiary of Tate & Lyle (UK) and Saint Louis Sucre (France) on various corporate structural changes including - three mergers of total of five sugar producing companies and related competition proceedings, various sugar production related issues, corporate and real estate transactions, squeeze out and EU restructuring process.
He represented clients in various litigations/proceedings at all levels, such as commercial, unfair competition and damage claim disputes (regional courts, Superior Courts, Supreme Court, Constitutional Court), administrative proceedings and disputes (administrative courts, Supreme Administrative Court) and various other issues before the Constitutional Court and/or European Court of Human Rights.
Relevant experience includes advising:
- French waste disposal company on purchase of dangerous waste treatment facility and its Czech subsidiary on merger of eight companies and related competition proceedings
- Dutch oil company on purchase of a company in the Czech Republic and related competition proceedings
- A multinational steel producer on acquisition of two companies in the Czech Republic and related competition proceedings
- The largest Czech steel producer on various acquisitions, related financing and competition proceedings
- An Austrian telecommunication provider on the merger of its Czech subsidiaries
- A music entertainment company on their merger in the Czech Republic
- A logistic company on the acquisition of their competitor and related competition proceedings
- The French subsidiary of BNP on construction, purchase and lease of Nový Smíchov shopping mall
- A Czech subsidiary of US/French developing company in respect of acquisition and developing real estate property
