Timothy Pitt is admitted to practice in Scotland and in England & Wales. He works primarily in the real estate and energy sectors, as well as general commercial.
In Real Estate, Tim advises on cross-border deals, working closely with the London and European offices wherever there is a Scottish element to a portfolio or company. He acts in projects for purchase or sale; landlord and tenant and, development and investment as well as in finance and security agreements. He established a niche real estate practice in Aberdeen and repeated the exercise in Edinburgh. He advises on specific Scots real estate issues, for both Scottish and international clients, and has lectured on differences between Scots and English law on the topic.
Tim comes from a strong energy background. He worked for a number of years in the sector both in Aberdeen and Indonesia. He has had secondments to oil and gas operators and to international service companies. Tim provides support on oil and gas projects and also advises on wind farm developments, tying in his real estate experience with this element of the energy sector.
On the corporate and commercial side, Tim advises on general Scots corporate and contract issues and, again, on cross-border elements of larger transactions. This flexibility allows for much interaction with the other CMS offices and clients.
