Tim Ingham has over 20 years experience as an insurance claims coverage and litigation lawyer.
From 1997 to 2007 Tim ran the firm’s Asian Insurance practice from Hong Kong where we had a broad practice, advising most of Hong Kong’s international insurance companies and insurance brokers. Tim developed his reputation in the fields of professional indemnity (auditors, accountants, engineers, architects, insurance brokers, solicitors, estate agents), as well as D&O, financial lines, product liability and reinsurance. He was an advisor to the Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers, a regular speaker for the Hong Kong Insurance Institute, and one of the authors to the main Hong Kong Insurance Law textbook. He also managed the office in Hong Kong for a time.
Since returning to London, Tim has become Sector Leader for financial institution insurance claims and is actively involved in claims relating to such high profile matters as Madoff and the Lehman’s collapse, as well as hedge funds. He is also leading the expansion of our aviation practice and is advising on a number of claims, including some relating to the recent Icelandic Volcano Eruption. Tim also plays a role within our accountants and insurance brokers sectors. He has recently led a team who successfully defended an insurance broker in a widely reported case.
Tim is also the head of our CMS European Wide Insurance Sector, co-ordinating, managing and developing a large team of insurance lawyers, across many contentious and non-contentious legal disciplines, over approximately 20 jurisdictions. Tim also plays a significant role in our domestic insurance sector focus within the UK.
Tim is also experienced in the development of various kinds of insurance products and issues relating to global programmes.
