Takura Kawai

Takura Kawai is Partner/Advocate working in Central and Eastern Europe with bases in Prague and Warsaw.

Takura is responsible for Japanese/Asian Practice in the CEE region. Before joining CMS Cameron McKenna in spring 2008, Takura worked
for Allen & Overy in Prague for four years and the M&A Advisory Department of Nomura Securities in Tokyo and an international law firm
in London. He was also seconded to CzechInvest for six months, where he advised a number of foreign investors on general corporate law and
investment incentives.

Takura has gained substantial experience in the areas of FDI and state aid (investment incentives and EU structural fund), and has also advised
on a number of high profile projects in the automotive, electronics and chemicals industries throughout the CEE region.

Takura is a member of the Czech Bar Association and vice-president of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic.

Relevant experience includes advising:

• Japanese government agents on a gas field and pipeline project in Russia
• Hitachi Ltd in relation to large greenfield projects in the Czech Republic
• Sumitomo Corporation on restructuring of distribution business in CEE
• Hitachi Transport Systems on the acquisition of a large Czech and Slovak logistic business
• Nikon on JV with Czech science laboratory
• Trading company on JV structure and acquisition of target in Ukraine
• Providing general corporate/commercial advice to foreign investors in CEE
