Derivative market reform poses major challenges for the industry. At this seminar we look at the impact of these changes from the perspective of the buy-side, insurers and other users of derivatives. The G20 set an ambitious agenda to reduce systemic risk from derivatives. Reforms at EU level (and in the US) have proved highly controversial; the EMIR legislative proposals and the derivative reforms in MiFIR are far reaching and will lead to wholesale restructuring of derivative markets. Users of these markets (as well the market participants themselves) need to prepare for the new world. The move to central counterparty clearing and mandatory exchange trading are being introduced against a background of other reforms which will shape the new derivative world. These include the reform of the MiFID regime, MAD II/MAR and broader issues such as enhanced capital and collateral requirements. The electricity sector faces the particular challenges of REMIT.
This seminar is intended for all users of derivatives including the buy-side, insurers and fund managers as well as those outside the financial sector such as electricity, energy, commodity and industrial companies. It is aimed at legal counsel, compliance, risk and those in treasury, investment and risk management teams and those handling ISDA contracts. Please pass this invitation to those on the business side at your company who are involved with derivatives whether for hedging or trading purposes.
To register for this seminar - please contact Jackie Harrington or Vicky Johnson.
