Sarah Hanson is a Partner in the Technology team and Deputy Head of the Lifesciences group.     

Sarah has extensive experience in advising on a broad range of commercial arrangements, including outsourcing, in and out licensing, agency agreements, supply and distribution agreements and co-marketing and co-promotion agreements. She advises across a wide range of industry sectors including lifesciences, consumer products and information technology.     

PLC Which Lawyer? recommends Sarah for Commercial and Partnering in the Lifescience category. Legal 500 2007 stated in the Pharmaceutical and biotechnology section that 'clients praise Sarah Hanson's skills in the regulatory area and say "she knows the industry extremely well".'

Relevant Experience includes advising:   

  • Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited on its €9.6 billion (debt-free cash free) acquisition of Swiss drug company, Nycomed A/S. Read the press release.
  • Otsuka on a co-promotion arrangement with Schwarz Pharma in Germany for Cilostazol (sold under the trade mark 'Pletal') for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, and on ancillary agreements relating to tablet supply, pharmacovigilance and quality assurance 
  • Camelot on the establishment of the Euromillions lottery, as well as terms and conditions for various of its lottery games and certain related promotions
  • Pfizer on corporate and commercial aspects of its acquisition of PowderMed Ltd, a company specialising in the emerging science of DNA based vaccines
  • Futura on the global development and commercialisation of its topically applied gel for the treatment of erectile dysfunction with SSL International, and drafting and negotiating associated out-licence agreement
  • Medtronic, Inc on its strategic collaboration with Lombard Medical Technologies plc in relation to the licence and distribution of Lombard’s RefixTM endostaple
  • A major retail company on various matters including advising on the terms and conditions for its Christmas catalogue, the supply arrangements with a significant procurer of goods and the establishment of its gift voucher scheme
