Péter Simon

Péter Simon is a Hungarian qualified lawyer with 15 years experience.

Péter has worked on various infrastructure, energy and construction projects (e.g. negotiating motorway concession and construction agreements; advising on the construction of power plants, etc.). 

Relevant experience includes advising: 

• A number of energy companies on the negotiation of long-term power purchase, fuel and heat supply agreements; in connection with power plant projects, shareholders agreements, turn-key construction agreements. Official licensing of power plants; advice to national gas traders regarding regulatory matters and contracts regarding the storage and transportation of national gas; advice to developers in renewable energy projects (wind parks, biomass fuelled power plants etc.)
• Iberdrola on the acquisition and development of various wind parks in Hungary.
• Official licensing of power plants
  - national gas traders regarding regulatory matters and contracts regarding the storage and transportation of national gas
  - developers in renewable energy projects (wind parks, biomass fuelled power plants etc.) including Iberdrola on the acquisition and development of various wind parks in Hungary
• On the Nabucco Pipeline, giving initial Hungarian law advice for the implementation of the approx. EUR 9 billion pipeline project
• MOL Nyrt. 
  - on the development of the Hungarian strategic natural gas storage
  - on the development of cross-border transmission pipelines towards Croatia and Romania
• MOL / CEZ on the joint implementation of two combined cycle gas turbine power plants of a planned capacity of 800 MW each in Hungary and in Slovakia
• Raiffeisen Energy Services Ltd. on the acquisition and development of various wind park projects in Hungary
• Pannonpower Rt. 
  - on the construction of a new municipal gas fired district heating plant in the city of Szekszárd (turnkey EPC contract, long term gas and heat supply agreements, etc) and in connection with the financing of the project
  - on the negotiations of a new Emission Reduction Units Trading Agreement with the World Bank acting as trustee for the so called Carbon Fund. It is a cutting edge agreement, one of the very first where a private sector entity acts as seller of units
  - on the construction of a new bio (chopped wood) fuelled power plant in the city of Pécs (turnkey EPC contract, long term wood supply contracts, etc) and in connection with the financing of the project
• Budapest Power Plant Ltd. ( A subsidiary of Electricitè de France) on the construction of two gas fired new co-generation power plants, with 110 MW installed capacity each, in Kispest and Újpest and on the retrofit of the 130 MW capacity Kelenföld Power Plant, in the City of Budapest (turnkey EPC contracts, long term fuel supply contracts etc.)
