Paweł Pietkiewicz is a Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution in the Warsaw office.
Paweł has extensive experience across a wide range of litigation and arbitration cases. He has represented defendants in a number of proceedings relating to product liability and personal injury claims. Paweł advised on the matters related to pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cars and tobacco products. He has also represented defendants in court proceedings pertaining to various D&O and PI matters. In 2007-08 he was a member of a working group of the Law Reform Commission at the Ministry of Justice (Komisja Koodyfikacyjna Prawa Cywilnego przy Ministerstwie Sprawiedliwości) working on draft group action/collective redress legislation. He is also a reporter for Poland for EJF and takes an active part in activities of that organisation.
Paweł is the Chairman of the Appointing Committee of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Confederation of Private Employers 'Lewiatan' (Komitet Nominacyjny Sądu Arbitrażowego przy Krajowej Konfederacji Pracodawców Prywatnych „Lewiatan”) and is entered on the list of arbitrators of that court. Paweł Pietkiewicz was an arbitrator in proceedings carried out on the basis of the rules of the Court of Arbitration at the National Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw, the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Confederation of Private Employers 'Lewiatan' and the Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.

Relevant experience includes advising:
- A major global insurance company on various insurance claims related to PI, D&O and financial policies with some multi-million claims
- A large insurance broker over a dispute with its client over the loss adjustment proceedings
- A museum on a number of court proceedings related to regaining various artworks (ongoing)
- A subsidiary of Poland’s largest copper producer over a dispute over a pipeline with Polish oil & gas company. Value of the dispute was PLN200 million
- A television promotion company on various intellectual property infringements
- A leading music radio broadcaster on various intellectual property infringements
- A major alcoholic beverage manufacturer on various court proceedings
- Ship owners on bankruptcy proceedings of Stocznia Szczecin Porta Holding, with claims in excess of millions of PLN
- One of the largest international tobacco companies on a product liability dispute
- A number of pharmaceutical and medical devices companies over various product liability issues
- A French construction company on an EUR27 million construction claim dispute
- An American tobacco producer on the first Polish tobacco litigation in which it has been sued for damages resulting from the personal injury of a tobacco smoker
