Nikolay (Nik) Ouzounov is an associate in the Sofia office who focuses on cross-border M&A, private equity, venture capital and commercial transactions. He is also a member of our dispute resolution team.
Nik's experience includes advising clients on cross-border M&A and restructuring, Series A financings and convertible note financings. Prior to joining CMS, Nik was an attorney at the law firm of Barnes, Richardson & Colburn in Chicago, where he practiced international trade law and litigated before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Nik has a number of publications in legal periodicals in the United States on topics such as international business, trade and corruption issues. He is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria. Nik is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.

Nik received his Juris Doctor degree, Cum Laude, from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. While in law school, he served as a Lead Articles Editor of the John Marshall Law Review. Nik also has a B.A. in English, Magna Cum Laude, from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. |
