New partner hire for CMS, China

CMS, China is very pleased to welcome Steve Yu, who is joining as a partner and Head of IP, to be based in the CMS Shanghai office. 

Steve has more than 12 years of experience in cross-border transactions and international investment relating to China. His practice encompasses a broad range of business and corporate transactions, including IP protection, technology licensing, international franchise and business restructuring. He has extensive experience advising international high-tech and life science companies in their intellectual property matters in China.

He advises clients on cross-border IP licensing, establishment and operation of R&D centres, IP portfolio management, IP due diligence and enforcement of IP rights in civil and criminal actions. He also participates in licensing negotiations and provides pre-litigation counselling, as well as working extensively on general corporate matters. In addition, he is highly experienced in advising clients on competition law matters.

Steve joins CMS from Eversheds where he was a partner.
