Mills Kirin is a senior associate in the Banking & Finance practice for the CEE region and local leader of the financial services sector group. Mills has extensive experience in a broad range of finance transactions with an emphasis on cross-border acquisition finance, structured finance, capital markets and derivatives.

Mills has acted for both Lenders and Sponsors in financing some of Europe’s most groundbreaking acquisitions in recent years and in 2008 was recognised by the IFLR 1000 global law firms guide for his work on the first-ever leveraged buy-out in Serbia.

Relevant experience includes advising:

• GMT Communications Partners on the financing of the acquisition of Melita Cable plc, a leading provider in cable TV, broadband and telephony services, which was the first leveraged buy-out in Malta.
• Bank Austria Creditanstalt (currently UniCredit Markets and Investment Banking) as mandated lead arranger on financing Mid Europa Partners´ acquisition of Serbia Broadband, which was the first leveraged buyout in Serbia
• Credit Suisse on their first loan origination in the Czech Republic in funding the acquisition of commercial real estate in Prague
• Credit Suisse as lead managers on the Czech law aspects of the Titan 2007-2 securitisation which was the first “true sale” securitisation of loan assets in the Czech Republic
• Advent International on the financing of the acquisition of KAI, the largest producer of wall and floor tiles in Bulgaria
• Aareal Bank on a refinancing of the Prague Intercontinental Hotel

Education:

Degrees in Law with Honours, Software Engineering and Commerce with Honours 1st Class from the University of New South Wales, Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia, member of the Czech Bar Association.
