Márton is a senior associate in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector group of the Hungarian Office of CMS Cameron McKenna LLP, with substantial experience of drafting and negotiating commercial and IT contracts. Areas of specialisation include: legal advisor for the IT sector, data protection and privacy law, internet law, general commercial contracts, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions.
He spent a 6 months secondment period at a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, providing day-to-day legal advice in all projects of the company there he worked closely with local business and the headquarters' legal department. Márton regularly publishes articles on the legal issues of data protection and privacy (such as whistleblowing schemes, cookie consent rules, credit reporting systems, security breach notification laws etc.) as well.
Relevant experience includes:
- Day-to-day legal advice to a multinational computer, technology and IT consulting corporation on region wide commercial, employment, consumer protection, data protection, competition, public procurement and miscellaneous technology-related issues.
- Advising Samsung Magyar Electronics Zrt. on general commercial matters, IP, advertisement, competition, employment, data protection and regulatory issues.
- Advising Electronic Arts Hungary on general commercial matters and various regulatory issues e.g. the introduction of electronic gambling systems, content regulation, rating, labeling and advertisement of video games, investigation and enforcement actions on CD counterfeiting among others.
- Ongoing advice to Multipolaris Zrt. on the implementation of complex IT and communication systems, including special surveillance and biometric identification applications.
- Advising a major US biotechnological company on commercial law, regulatory and data privacy issues. Drafting and negotiating supply of medicinal products agreement, production- and logistics agreements, advising in relation to carrying out clinical trials, developing of commission structure, advising in relation to data collection programs, drafting and negotiating donation-, marketing/promotional and sponsorship agreements and drafting general sales conditions.
- Advising a major US research company on clinical trials conducted in the territory of 6 CEE countries. Advising on regulatory issues in relation to investigation particularly with regard to the collection and protection of personal data and developing and negotiating the related contractual structure.
- Advising Roche Hungary on all aspects of the takeover of operations in relation to a hospital's diagnostic laboratory including the related procurement, general commercial, real estate and employment law issues
- Advising Advent International in the acquisition of the third largest producer of private label wet and dry pet food in Europe
- Advising a large global telecoms operator on the local data privacy requirements and VAT / archiving law aspects of the transfer of personal data from the CEE into an integrated database.
- Advised Argus Capital in the acquisition and operation of a pan-European optical fibre infrastructure network.
- Advised Intel / 3TS on the acquisition of one of the biggest online retailers in the CEE, including legal advice on various regulatory issues.
- Advising an international telecommunications company concerning the establishment of a customer data-sharing system for telecoms services in CEE.
- Legal advice in the establishment of a major e-health system (patient-doctor-pharmaceutical company communications platform), including detailed analysis on the data privacy aspects, preparing the contractual background and the data privacy consents, negotiations with the infrastructure service provider and liaising with the Data Protection Supervisory Authority.
- Advising Diageo Hungary in its day-to-day data protection and privacy question such as the review of its privacy practice and policies, the processing of personal information in its employee survey and testing programme and privacy issues in relation to the introduction of its SAP HR system, workplace monitoring system among others.
