Mark Heighton is a partner in our real estate group. He qualified in 1988 and has been a Partner since 1995.
Mark has considerable experience of a wide range of real estate transactions, advising investors, developers and occupiers, and also has extensive experience of property related joint ventures, trust arrangements and collaboration agreements for both investment and development projects. He is the head of the real estate and construction sector group.
Mark is a member of the Investment and Finance Committee for the British Council of Shopping Centres and is a regular writer for the property trade press on a wide range of real estate issues (particularly in the retail and development fields). He is also a member of the British Council of Offices, Corenet, BURA and the British Council of Shopping Centres.
Mark was ranked as a leading expert in the commercial property field by Legal Business in 2008 and also a leading lawyer by Chambers in its 2009 edition who say: 'Mark Heighton “fights hard for his clients but is nonetheless sensible and constructive,”.'
Relevant experience includes advising:
- Institutional investors on the acquisition, forward funding and disposal of investment properties
- Commercial, mixed use and residential developers on a number of development projects throughout the UK
- Owner/occupiers on the acquisition, development and disposal of office, retail, warehouse and other premises
