Louise Wallace is a partner in the Corporate Department, is Head of the Consumer Products group and an active member of the Hotels group.

Louise has been a partner since 1997 and her major areas of work cover mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate finance and public company takeovers and flotations, joint ventures, outsourcings, corporate governance and a wide range of corporate restructurings and ancillary advice.

Louise is recommended in Chambers 2008, 'the excellent .. Louise Wallace who has impressive negotiation skills and can pull together all the various strands of a deal'. Louise works for a broad range of clients but has a particular focus in the Consumer sector (she heads up the firm’s Consumer Products Group) and the Hotels sector, where she has been hugely active over the last several years.

Legal 500 2008 recommends Louise for hotel and leisure sector deals.

Consumer Products includes advising:

  • WT Foods on the sale of Noon Group Ltd to Kerry Foods Ltd, Bart Spices Ltd 
  • Bridgepoint and management on the sale of WT Holdings to Grace Kennedy of Jamaica 
  • Shareholders on the disposal of Discovery Foods Limited to Sweden based Santa Maria AB 
  • The seller on the sale of H&B Foods to the Novel Cheese Company
  • Acquisition of Bluecrest Seafood Limited from Booker plc, its merger with Young’s Seafood and the sale of Young’s Bluecrest to CapVest
  • Sara Lee on various matters 

Hotels includes advising:

  • A large UK bank on the £1 billion acquisition of the portfolio of 47 Marriott hotels from Whitbread and Marriott and on the subsequent sale of the portfolio to a syndicate of investors for in excess £16 million  
  • Chiltern Mondiale on the acquisition of 11 Courtyard by Marriott in the UK and its subsequent disposal to Kew Green  
  • A large UK bank (and others) acquisition and financing of 16 Hilton hotels in the UK 
  • Financing of three Marriott hotels in Brussels 
  • Accor on a sale and leaseback of 30 UK hotel properties with Land Securities Trillium for £439 million 
  • Le Méridien Hotels on the disposal of the Ritz hotel in Madrid to a 50/50 joint venture between the hotel operator Orient Express and Omega Capital, a Spanish investment company
  • Nomura International on the acquisition of Le Méridien Hotel Group for €2.8 billion 

General includes advising:

  • AnaCap on the acquisition of its stake in Credoma, a Czech mortgage business 
  • NSB Retail Systems plc on corporate advice to main board including acquisitions and disposals and advising on the disposal of NSB’s UK operations to BT 
  • NSB on the recommended takeover of NSB by Epicor Software
