Loredana Ralea is a Partner in the Bucharest office.

Loredana has over 10 years' experience specialising in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, including privatisations, and international finance law. She has been involved in numerous M&A transactions in Romania for major international companies, including advising the EBRD, DBG Eastern Europe and Advent International in connection with legal due diligence investigations and equity and debt investments in Romanian companies.

Loredana advised on one of the most important privatisations to take place in Romania: the privatization of BCR by Erste Bank. Loredana is a native Romanian speaker who is also fluent in English.

Relevant experience includes advising:  

• Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG on the EUR 3.75 billion acquisition of Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR). This was the largest M&A transaction ever to take place in Romania, and one of the largest deals in the banking sector in all of Europe
• Erste Bank on the proposed acquisition of the Romanian National Savings House (CEC)
• Erste Bank and BCR on various corporate matters and on two outsourcing projects
• Advent International on the acquisition of Terapia SA, the largest Romanian pharmaceutical company
• Deutek SA, a Romanian subsidiary of Advent International on the acquisition of a construction materials producer and a goodwill acquisition in the same industry sector
• HSBC on the proposed acquisition of two Romanian companies acting in the consumer credit and mortgage credit field
• DBG Eastern Europe on the acquisition of a majority stake in Flanco International (a major Romanian retail company)
• An international food manufacturer on the proposed acquisition of an icecream business in Romania
• Regency International SRL (former shareholders of Hyatt Regency hotels group) on the establishment and operation of a slot machine operation and the establishment of a casino in Bucharest
• Iberdrola Renovables, a world leader in wind energy, on an investment agreement with Eolica Dobrogea (Schweiz) AG, a company belonging to the Swiss engineering group NEK and the Romanian company Rokura. Deal value: EUR 300 million
