Kathy Mylrea

Kathy Mylrea is a Consultant in the Environment Group.

With over 20 years' experience advising on the application of UK and EU environmental law, Kathy is an experienced environmental law practitioner.

Her practice includes traditional areas of environmental law such as contaminated land, environmental permitting, water pollution and resource issues, REACH and waste management, but also covers transactional support and compliance auditing where climate change and energy issues are increasingly featuring. Litigation, in particular in relation to environmental nuisance issues, is also a large part of her practice. Kathy also has expertise in health and safety enforcement.

Throughout her career Kathy has consistently been recommended by Legal 500 and Chambers as a leading environmental practitioner.

Relevant experience includes advising: 

• Three Valleys Water PLC on contaminated resources requiring remediation in a contested contaminated land remediation appeal inquiry   
• Major waste company in litigation regarding alleged odours from an operational landfill site. The litigation involved over 200 claimants alleging odours over a period of several years
• Akzo Nobel UK Ltd on historic contamination at various UK locations
