Joe Bryant is a partner in the Insurance and Reinsurance Group (Bristol office) and has been with the firm since 1998. 

Joe has developed a particular reputation in handling disputes involving construction professionals, solicitors, and insurance brokers, and has extensive practical experience in all forms of litigation, arbitration and ADR, including construction adjudication. Joe is an accredited mediator.

Legal 500 recommends Joe as an 'excellent problem solver'.   

Relevant experience includes representing:

  • The successful defendants (and their professional indemnity insurers) in the major House of Lords case of Haward v Fawcetts in 2006, being the now-seminal case on secondary limitation periods in tort cases
  • Independents Advantage v Michael Cook & Co (Court of Appeal, 2003)
  • Stewart v Engel and BDO Stoy Hayward (Court of Appeal, 2000)
