Ivana Fára is a senior Czech advocate, member of the corporate team and the leader of the Insolvency Sector Group.
Ivana specialises in corporate and restructuring law. Ivana has a broad experience in advising on complex corporate restructurings of companies and groups, in particular mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts, company set-up and liquidations, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence projects and day-to-day corporate matters bringing the insolvency law experience and aspects to her advice.
Ivana has extensive experience with acquisitions in various fields, ranging from machinery manufacture, e-tailer companies, meat processing industry to sale/purchase of companies operating major development projects, organisation of due diligence and drafting transaction documentation. Ivana has a broad experience with coordinating the most complex acquisition processes, including leading of due diligence, assistance with preparation and negotiation of the acquisition documents, organisation of the meetings with management and relating issue.
In relation to insolvency/restructuring advice, Ivana has a rich experience in acting for clients before the Office for the Protection of Economic Competition – she successfully acted for a major daily press publisher in cartel proceedings, machinery and energy companies in proceedings to approve merger of competitors in sales and acquisitions of the companies and most recently for a private equity fund on the acquisition of companies operating in heath sector in the Czech Republic including two of the first simplified merger clearance procedures in the Czech Republic.
Ivana regularly contributes to discussions and insolvency roundtables in American Chamber of Commerce. She is an author of several articles in reputable business magazines.

- Representing various creditors in insolvency proceedings in the Czech Republic
- Advising a major wood company on restructuring of its business to prevent a situation of currently threatened insolvency procedures.
- Advising Wrigley on various issues regarding M&A in the process of restructuring of operations in the Czech Republic. The work also included advice in respect day-to-day corporate issues as well as advising on employment matters in the Czech Republic.
- Representing a bank institution in an insolvency proceeding.
- Advising an Iceland bank on Czech law aspects of its insolvency proceedings and moratorium.
- Representing a consumer products company in an insolvency proceeding regarding a lease agreement.
- Advising a major pharma company to prevent its difficulties due to the insolvency of its business partner.
- Advising private equity fund, a shareholder of a nano-fiber producer company, in the situation of potential insolvency.
- Advising to private equity funds on liabilities of the statutory bodies in insolvency situations.
