CMS Cameron McKenna LLP’s band, The Stragglers triumphed in a ‘battle of the bands’ held at the legendary 100 Club, on Oxford Street, London, last night (18 June).
Organised by Keating Chambers, the highly successful Law Rocks was a charity battle of the bands between global law organisations.
The event was judged by the editor of The Lawyer, a High Court Judge and a musician from a well-known band. The Stragglers were up against Addleshaw Goddard, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Keating Chambers, Lovells and Nabarros.
Tickets were sold out in advance and funds raised from ticket sales went to a number of charities including the band’s chosen charity, Rainbow Trust.
Jonathan Dames and Paul Smith, members of the band and partners at CMS Cameron McKenna commented on The Stragglers’ success. Jonathan said, “We are thrilled to have won the Law Rocks battle of the bands. It was a privilege to play at such a renowned venue and to raise money for Rainbow Trust”. Paul added, “It is a fantastic achievement given the quality of the other bands and thanks to the great support given by the CMS Cameron McKenna audience.”
And the next step for the band? They have been tipped to appear at Glastonbury this year, but of course that could just be a rumour...
