Ed Foss

Ed Foss is a partner in the Insurance and Reinsurance Group, based in Leadenhall Street.

Ed joined the firm from the position of Group Legal Adviser at Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group Plc, where he was heavily involved in insurance brokers and employee benefit consultants liability work. In this role, Ed gained experience in litigation broker's liability issues around the world as well as in the United Kingdom, including taking two cases to the Court of Appeal. Ed also gained extensive experience in dispute resolution work, both formal and informal, all from a client's perspective. Ed had this role for seven years.

Prior to this, Ed was a partner in the insurance and reinsurance team at Davies Arnold Cooper, where his practice included advising D and O and professional indemnity underwriters on coverage and defence issues across a range of professions (stockbrokers, banks, accountants and insurance brokers), as well as advising cedents on reinsurance issues. Ed qualified in 1992 at Davies Arnold Cooper.

Ed’s client base includes major brokers and their Insurers as well as underwriters generally on defence and coverage work.

Ed is a well known figure in the insurance market and currently sits on the committee of the British Insurance Law Association.

Education:

Ed graduated from Cardiff University and attended Chester Law School.
