Dóra is a partner at the Budapest office of CMS Cameron McKenna LLP. She has 16 years of legal experience. Her major clients are foreign-owned commercial banks, and major joint ventures. Areas of specialisation: legal advisor for the tech-media telecom sector, competition law, IP law matters, general commercial contracts, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions. Dóra speaks native Hungarian, is fluent in English and German, is at conversational level on French and Russian.
Relevant experience includes advising:
- Dóra has been advising the incumbent telecommunications operator – among others - in its business development projects and its media business unit; she has been involved in negotiations with authorities, and various partners regarding the projects;
- Dóra has been serving as general counsel for app 10 years for the leading Hungarian Internet Service Provider (ISP) and advising on the launch of services, including IPTV, ADSL and other broadband services, data-park and systems integration, mergers and acquisition of companies (e.g. major ISPs, the largest Hungarian community portal – iwiw.hu) and data protection compliance;
- She has represented companies in domain name and trademark matters (including, protection of the largest Hungarian portal’s trademark and domain name from claims in negotiations with licence owners) – value of dispute approx. HUF 19 billion – USD 100 million;
- Advised clients on sale and purchase of Hungarian and international domain names;
- She has been representing various TMT companies, among others, the largest commercial broadcasting channel in competition law matters such as merger approval, abuse of dominant position, misleading of customers; as well as representation in the sectoral review proceedings, review of their current practices, general terms and conditions, preparation of compliance audit reports;
- Dóra was acting for companies in market review proceedings, policy consultations and other telecommunications regulatory issues before the Hungarian national regulatory authority (NRA);
- Dóra has been advising a large multinational bank in the restructuring of its IT infrastructure – the project affects more than 150 applications
- She was also representing the Hungarian incumbent telecommunications company in relation to regulatory changes, proposed new regulatory frameworks/regulatory strategies; and
- Dóra was involved in negotiating IT outsourcing agreements including the largest to date in Hungary.
