Daniel Bilak is Head of the Real Estate Practice Group in Kyiv and head of the firm’s Hotels & Leisure sector group in CEE. With more than 17 years of experience working in the private and public sectors in Ukraine, he has extensive knowledge of the local market and established experience in managing legal risk on behalf of clients.

Daniel has represented major international and Ukrainian real estate developers, institutional property owners and lender clients in connection with construction and commercial financing, mortgage lending, acquisitions and sales of commercial real estate, property acquisition and development, leasing of land and premises, and licensing of construction companies.

Relevant experience includes advising:

  • A European private equity fund on a US$1.2 billion joint venture to construct a 600,000 m² mixed use office, retail and residential development project in downtown Kyiv, including real estate financing
  • EuroHypo, HypoReal and WestLB on the real estate aspects of their financings in Kyiv
  • A major European developer on a joint venture to construct a 120,000 m² office development on Kyiv's Left Bank 
  • A major Ukrainian developer on the acquisition and development of a 75,000 m² and commercial centre in Kyiv
  • A European developer - on the acquisition, construction and leasing of a 120,000 m² business park near Boryspil airport
  • Structuring a forward purchase construction financing in respect of the acquisition of a US$80 million shopping centre in Kharkiv
