Caron Pope heads the Business Immigration team in the UK and has over 18 years of experience as a specialist immigration lawyer.
Caron has extensive expertise in all categories of applications under the Points Based System (PBS), as well as advising on and managing the process for employers to be licensed as sponsors. This includes providing advisory and strategic advice to employers to ensure that they can meet their enhanced compliance obligations in relation to their migrant population. Caron also advises on the full range of applications covered by the Immigration Rules including visitors, students, sole representatives, family members, long residence applications and applications submitted under European Law. She also specialises in nationality law.
Caron is a leading expert on investor applications, acting for both clients of private banks and high net worth individuals worldwide, with a particular profile in Eastern Europe and China.
Caron was the first solicitor to qualify into the immigration team in 1990 and remained with the firm until August 1996. Having headed UK immigration practices at two other City firms, she rejoined the firm in October 2007, bringing with her a solicitor and two senior paralegals. Caron has a breadth of experience acting for clients in various industry sectors including financial institutions and services, pharmaceutical companies, engineering and oil and gas companies, retail businesses and other law firms.
Caron is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association (ILPA) and has spoken on UK immigration law issues both in the UK and overseas. She is recognised as one of the leading lawyers in this field and was described 'fast, efficient and able to answer complex questions in a blink' Chambers and Partners 2007 and 'a lawyer's lawyer' Chambers and Partners 2009.
