CMS Cameron McKenna LLP has proudly sponsored one of the elephants in the London Elephant Parade. The London Elephant Parade event highlights the crisis faced by the endangered Asian elephant and has seen more than 250 brightly painted life size elephants appear all over central London. This is London's biggest outdoor art event on record. With an estimated audience of 25 million, the campaign aims to raise £2 million for the benefit of 20 UK conservation charities. The firm chose the fantastic local artist, Pochoir to paint its elephant, which is located in St Paul's Cathedral churchyard. Last weekend, the elephant received a makeover when two beautiful ballerinas from English National Ballet, dressed in elaborate Swan Lake costumes, danced around the elephant, which was dressed in a giant tutu. The makeover attracted much press attention, having featured in the Sunday Times and Metro online. CMS Cameron McKenna has also launched a competition for employees and the firm’s partners including local schools and it’s charity of the year for 2009-2010 Kids Company, to submit designs for the elephant following the theme "What does being European mean to you?", in line with the firm’s distinctively European offering. The winner will be able to see his or her masterpiece come to life on the elephant.Mark Nichols, Corporate, Social Responsibility partner comments, "We are passionate about our commitment to the community and the wider environment. This is a great cause and we are pleased to have been able to raise awareness among a number of our partnerships through our competition."
