CMS Cameron McKenna has advised Spire Healthcare, the UK’s second largest private hospital group, on its acquisition of Harley Street’s London Fertility Centre, one of the most comprehensive and long-standing providers of assisted conception treatments in the UK.

Spire acquired the well-established fertility clinic on 29 March. The deal forms the base of Spire’s strategy to become the major national private provider of fertility services in the UK.

London Fertility Centre, founded in 1990, operates a hub and spoke model with clinicians and hospitals across the south of England in addition to serving the core London market, creating major scope for Spire to establish satellite fertility clinics in some of its 37 hospitals across the UK.

The CMS Cameron McKenna Team was led by Corporate Partner, Jason Zemmel. He was assisted by Angela Clump. Aaron Fairhurst advised on tax and Real Estate Partner, Pranai Karia  and associate, Esther Ribberink-Nagel advised on real-estate matters.

Jason Zemmel said ‘We are delighted to continue our association with Spire and wish them every success with the new venture. This is another example of our market- leading healthcare practice working with leading players in this exciting and dynamic market sector.’

CMS Cameron McKenna’s Healthcare Group comprises more than 50 lawyers and its clients include the operators of private hospitals, dentists, care homes and the providers of specialist services.
