CMS Cameron McKenna LLP has acted for new client Sovereign Capital on three acquisitions on behalf of its investee company, National Fostering Agency (NFA).
NFA is the second largest independent fostering agency in the UK and the acquisitions confirm the organisation’s commitment to a UK-wide coverage of high quality fostering services supported by a highly trained foster carer network.
The acquisitions - Alliance Foster Care in Northampton; Alpha Plus Fostering in Oldham; and a well established Essex-based agency - bring a further four offices to NFA’s network of nine existing regional offices and bring the total number of placements in NFA’s care to over 1,600. Additionally, the newly-acquired agencies complement NFA’s existing geographical and contractual reach.
The CMS Cameron McKenna corporate team was led by Partners, Jonathan Lisle and Jason Zemmel and included Jayne Brown, Sarah King, Rowley Higgs, Nicky Hyland, Rob Carlon and Vicky Stimson. The banking team was Alex Patience and Matthew Hopkins.
“We were delighted to work with Sovereign on these three transactions” commented Jason Zemmel. “Our market-leading Healthcare Group closed six transactions this month- in addition to the three for Sovereign, we acted on the sale of Nuffield’s mobile theatre business, the establishment of a major clinical services scheme for Clinicenta and a corporate reorganisation for one of the industry’s major players”.
CMS Cameron McKenna’s Healthcare Group comprises more than 50 lawyers and its clients include the operators of private hospitals, dentists, care homes and the providers of specialist services. It has advised on a range of complex M&A transactions, commercial contracts, PFI / PPP work, outsourcing and regulatory matters.
