Insurance and Reinsurance
The Insurance and Reinsurance team in Bristol is a four partner, 26 fee-earner practice, specialising in defendant professional indemnity insurance work. We act on behalf of many of the major insurance companies and Lloyds syndicates that are active in this area. We cover a broad range of professions, defending claims brought against solicitors, construction professionals, financial services professionals, pension scheme trustees, accountants and brokers, among many others. We have also developed a particular specialism in dealing with mortgage fraud and related claims.
Banking
Forged in the last recession, our Bristol banking litigation team - recognised for its friendly, knowledgeable, value for money service - has wide experience of pursuing complex recoveries and resolving claims on behalf of its national client base. We receive regular instructions as members of panels for 2 of the 4 'big' clearers and from a host of other banks, building societies, IPs and financial institutions. In addition to pursuing secured and unsecured debts, we are also very active in the areas of insolvency litigation, employee and mortgage frauds, claims against professionals and in defending and mitigating operational losses (where ADR is to the fore). We are experiencing a significant upturn in complex recoveries, insolvency and fraud work arising from the credit crunch, and in the emerging area of payment protection insurance.
Real Estate
The Real Estate team in Bristol is made up of two partners, seven assistants and a team of paralegals. We deal with a wide range of institutional and development work from a broad client base of pension funds and developers. Both partners were originally based in our London Team and all members of the team work very closely with the London team to ensure a co-ordinated delivery of service to the highest standards. |
