Belinda Schofield is a partner in our Insurance and Reinsurance Group, based in Leadenhall Street, London.Belinda has over 30 years’ experience in the London market and is acknowledged as a leader in the fields of general insurance claims and professional negligence. Her practice includes large insurance disputes covering banks and financial institutions, professional indemnity, energy, property and reinsurance disputes. Belinda’s contentious work includes advising brokers and she has represented brokers and their insurers in numerous market disputes including those involving Irish solicitors indemnity fund; placement of Italian med-mal; and Korean ship finance guarantee products. Her work in the financial institutions sector has included advice on exposure of pension trustees, fund managers, fund administrators and hedge fund losses. Belinda’s non-contentious work includes risk management training for brokers; drafting of policy wordings; product development for insurer clients; and advice to financial investors in securitised life and health products. Belinda was the instigator and is one of the leading editor partners of the CMS Cameron McKenna Insurance Broking Practice and the Law legal text published by Informa. Belinda is the firm’s co-ordinator of our external Advisory Network which provides high-level management support to the Executive and the Board.
