Ashley Damiral

Ashley is a partner in the Planning team and has wide experience providing strategic and detailed planning advice to private and public sector clients at all stages of the development process.  Ashley has particular expertise in complex development and infrastructure projects, in the residential, retail, hotels and energy sectors.

Ashley specialises in environmental assessment, planning inquiries, complex s106 planning obligations and highways agreements, built heritage, legal challenges and compulsory purchase.

Ashley has been described in the Legal 500 as having “a sharp appreciation of the issues that matter”.

Relevant experience includes

• Residential: advising various developers and housebuilders, including Berkeley Homes for more than ten years on complex development sites across London and the South East, including EIA, public inquiries and multi-phased s106 agreements.
• Retail: advising Sainsbury’s on more than 50 different retail developments across the UK, including managing competing retail schemes, public inquiries and legal challenges.
• Energy: advising promoters of a transmission project and a Round 3 wind farm and a bidder in the OFTO tender regime on all aspects of the UK land and marine consents regimes.
• Major acquisitions: advising institutional investors in acquiring redevelopment sites and investment properties, including shopping centres, an air force base, the accommodation for an international sporting venue and a major distribution centre.
• Projects: on the planning elements of various PFI/PPP projects including light rail, MOD, health and education projects.
