Árpád Lantos

Árpád Lantos is a partner of the Budapest office of CMS Cameron McKenna with over 15 years post qualification experience.

He has several years' experience in the areas of banking law and securities law. Having worked for 5 years in the National Bank of Hungary, he has particular experience in regulatory banking and derivatives. Árpád is experienced in working on restructuring and insolvency matters having advised several multinational companies across various sectors. Much of his work is also transactional.

Relevant experience includes advising:

• ·Axa Bank on the cross-border merger of its Hungarian subsidiary into the Belgium subsidiary and transforming its Hungarian operation into a branch
• Calyon Bank 
  - on the transformation of the Hungarian subsidiaries into a branch
  - on notional total return swap relating to the shares of a listed company
• Eurohypo AG
  - on the EUR 30 million refinancing of the so called “Dorottya udvar” , an office building comprising 19,031 m3 with a gross lettable area of 28,646 m2 and 584 parking lots, located at 11th district in Budapest
  - on the EUR 20 million financing for WING Zrt., a major Hungarian real estate developer, in connection with an office building project at Millenáris Park, Budapest
• OTP Bank on a EUR 82 million bio-ethanol project in Slovakia 
• CIB Bank 
  - on its merger with Inter-Europa Bank – CIB Bank becoming the second largest bank in Hungary
  - on security agreements related to the refinancing of a clothing company in Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland
  - on the financing of a hotel and marina project in Croatia
  - on the financing of a holiday resort in Kreischberg, Austria
  - on the planned financing of five different PPP projects in Hungary. Legal work involved the review of agreement packages, due diligence of the companies involved and the setting up of the transactional documentation
