The hospitality and other industries need to start engaging intelligently with the cleantech sector, and begin thinking in long not short, investment terms.
Energy and commodity security along with environment are major drivers in this regard. Green law changes are going to have an impact upon business because of the financial and commercial risks and opportunities that will come with it. Already, lifecycle costing is beginning to be brought into regulation which could bring about significant change in financial modelling of purchasing decisions. However, this is not something to fear – the benefits of adoption of environment principles in management, for instance, has given rise to significant cost savings and efficiency- something that businesses will be keen to extend and consolidate in the current financial crisis.
Green Law And The Impact On Hotel Investment - The things you need to know!
Paul Sheridan, Head of the Environment Group at CMS Cameron McKenna, gave a thought provoking and pragmatic conference presentation on the impact of green law in the hotel sector at the International Hotel Investment Forum 2009 in Berlin. The main message to the conference delegates was the value that can be added to the hotel sector through the adoption and integration of cleantech practices.
