Alice Nairn is a solicitor in the CMS Hotel & Leisure Group and has worked full time on hotel and leisure transactions since qualifying in 2004. This included a period of secondment to the Middle East and Asia Pacific headquarters of a major international hotel management company.   

She has extensive experience in negotiating hotel management contracts and franchise agreements and has advised owners, developers and banks on management contracts with most of the major chains including Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Starwood, Accor, Radisson Edwardian, Rezidor and Six Senses for hotels and resorts throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia.   

Alice has experience in advising banks on the corporate and management-contract aspects of hotel transactions, financings/re-financings and asset management issues generally. She has also acted on several mergers and acquisitions in the hotel and leisure sector.   

Relevant experience includes advising: 

  • HLH on the management contracts for 30 new hotels in the UK to be operated under the 'Hampton by Hilton' and 'Hilton Garden Inn' brands
  • ARG Hotels on the £80 million acquisition of the Crowne Plaza London – The City
  • JJW Hotels & Resorts on the €174 million acquisition of two Le Meridien hotels in the Algarve, Portugal
  • Moorfield on the acquisition of three hotels in the United Kingdom
  • A large UK bank on the financing of three Marriott hotels in Brussels and the Hythe Imperial hotel
